Training and innovation: these are the cornerstones of being a competitive logistics operator today. At Conde Fernández Hermanos, we want to continue growing, which is why we recently took part in the digitalisation workshop organised by the Clúster da Función Loxística de Galicia: ‘Operational excellence and efficiency in logistics’, held at the Cidade da Cultura in Santiago de Compostela.
Our managing director, Miguel Ángel Conde, attended this event to analyse new strategies for optimising processes and thereby improving our operational efficiency as a transport and logistics company. Here is what he brought back with him.
With the help of various professionals from our sector, we at Conde Fernández Hermanos attended presentations on the key factors for improving our efficiency as a logistics operator. As part of a workshop on digitalisation, the speakers shared their expertise on the correct implementation of Artificial Intelligence within our business, with a view to improving our internal processes. Indeed, at Conde we understand that a tool such as AI is essential for our continued growth in the market.
In addition, the Cluster workshop included presentations on freight transport and logistics in both demanding industrial sectors and port environments. We also discussed not only the training of our current staff in these areas, but also that of new employees through Vocational Training programmes.
However, for us, the presentation on how to apply the Lean methodology to our work processes was of particular interest. This method, which is very common in logistics, involves optimising work rhythms by eliminating activities that add no value to the company. Without a doubt, as operators, efficiency cannot be an option, but rather the bare minimum of our day-to-day operations. At Conde, our work philosophy is “Constant Agility”, the way to respond quickly to our customers’ demands, something that is impossible without efficiency and operational excellence.
As we have already mentioned, at Conde Fernández Hermanos we want to continue learning and adapting to the changes taking place in the logistics sector.
This workshop on digitalisation and operational excellence has enabled us to discover new methodologies focused on logistics processes. It has also shown us how other companies are applying operational excellence models to improve their efficiency. This exchange of experiences has been particularly valuable given that logistics is a sector undergoing rapid transformation. Digital transformation, sustainability and the need for greater operational efficiency are profoundly changing the way we work.
Thanks to what we have learnt, we will continue to prioritise training, innovation and continuous improvement as fundamental tools for our company. At Conde, we would like to thank the Galician Logistics Cluster for their time and for everything they taught us during the workshop.

We operate in the road freight transport sector, covering both domestic and international routes and providing our customers with logistics solutions for warehousing and distribution.
